GCSE Maths Questions
At Functional Skills Level 2, we help students to reach their full academic potential. One service we provide is helping students find the best revision materials and how to best use them, but for this week we are specifically looking at GCSE maths. The most prominent resource is past papers, but there isn’t that many available so it’s better to tackle these as the last part of your revision. Alternatively you can start with practice questions, such as MME questions by topic. We recommend these to students because they cover whole specifications for your exam board.
When you have a lot of content to cover, it’s best to break it down and work through smaller sections. Once you’ve done this, start to complete the questions. After each topic use the mark scheme to go through but be sure to rectify any mistakes and note them down. As you move through topics you can add any corrections to a list which you can look back on to brush up on areas that need work. We’ve noticed that students who actively correct their mistakes end up with a more solid understanding of the content.
This same routine should be followed when you move on to GCSE maths past papers. By continually correcting your mistakes you continue to learn whilst also gaining an understanding of exam style questions. Please feel free to contact us for help with GCSE maths or other core subjects.
